Every morning, Politico's New York Playbook publishes a summary of the governor's and mayor's public schedules. That is, if it receives one.
Lately though, Eric Adams' schedule has simply been "Schedule unavailable". In fact, over the past 8 weeks, his schedule has been unavailable 65% of the time.
As the data below shows, this is actually a new trend that began at the end of March 2025 right as his trial was wrapping up; up until then he had a spotless record during his time in office, always providing his schedule in advance.
And yes, he's still doing better than Andrew Cuomo, who has the worst schedule availability track record.
Kathy Hochul has only missed providing her schedule 6 times since becoming the governor on August 24, 2021 for a 99% track record. Certainly much better than her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, who didn't even crack 80%.
Andrew Cuomo has the worst track record in providing his schedule in advance, with a track record of 79.9%.
His record had been a little bit spotty, ever since Politico began reporting it towards the end of his second term in 2017, but the lack of transparency really picked up in May 2020.
Admittedly that was a pretty chaotic time for everyone, but this the same person who wanted us to celebrate his leadership during that time period.
Well, well, well, not easy to find a mayor with Bill de Blasio's 99% track record of providing his schedule in advance.
Knowing what our public officials are up to is a standard form of transparency that enables the press to document their actions so the public can hold them accountable. You can explore the data and trends below and read more about the project and methodology.
